Wooden bi-folding doors allow open-plan living with a difference, where the home and garden become one. Versatility at its best – a bi-folding door system allows 90% usage of an opening compared to only 40% with traditional doorsets.
An unobtrusive view of the garden can be enjoyed even when the bi-folding doors are closed and with a greater ratio of glass to frame, more natural light is projected into the room. Providing flexibility as a partition between two internal rooms, bi-folding doors can also open up a space for parties and get-togethers or create a snug area when closed. Their space-saving design is also conducive to areas where space is limited.
Platinum timber Bi-folding doors
Made to measure using engineered oak or mahogany, each panel can be up to 0.85m in width, 2.6m in height and 80kg in weight, with a total frame width of up to 6m. These bespoke systems are factory finished in a choice of Sikkens micro porous water-based wood stains or RAL colours, a high-performance finish with minimal maintenance.
Available with a standard or flush threshold, Bayfield Platinum timber bi-folding doors are easy to operate. The doors open and close smoothly and effortlessly along encapsulated running gear, preventing the doors from being lifted from the track. A high-quality three-point lock on the opening leaf and lockable flush shoot bolts along the length of the doors ensure that the system is safe and secure. There is also the option of trickle vents to allow background ventilation.
Configurations
Numerous configurations are available with door panels that open to the left or right and inside or out. For ease of access to and from the garden, a traffic door is an option when an odd number of panels are selected.

Gold timber bi-folding doors
The Bayfield Gold timber bi-folding door system provides a traditional and natural appearance with doors expertly crafted from Meranti or European oak. Laminated to give extra strength and prevent warping or twisting, the frames are also coated in an anti-rot and anti-fungal treatment to protect the wood from sun damage or water ingress. The final touch is a factory-applied natural stain or RAL colour of your choice to provide up to 10 years wear.
With the security of your property being fundamental to the design of the system, the track system is strong and secure, with concealed running gear to provide protection against potential intruders. Furthermore, high-security hinges, multi-point locking systems and internally beaded glazing mean there’s one less thing to work about.
Thermally efficient, the timber doors achieve an A-rating and U-value of 1.4 W/m2K to meet the requirements of Approved Document L 2010 of The Building Regulations.
